Carolina Cup Recap

The Sup Annapolis crew rolled deep again to the Carolina Cup this past weekend and had a great time as usual. John B and the rest of the Distressed Mullet/Wrightsville Beach crew put on an AWESOME event. The weather in Maryland this spring has SUCKED so water time has been tough to come by. It was nice to get in some warmer North Carolina weather and water you do not have to wear wetsuit boots in. Paddlers came from all over the world so we made sure to rock the MD flag as much as we could haha (and yes we know the flag was upside down on the pole, long story). Good showing for the 1st race of the year though!!

Graveyard- 13 Miles and over 120 + paddlers
Denny Grant top 30 in Men's 14' in the Graveyard (beat a lot of pro's) and Basil Tydings (Chip) put in strong work on his 12'6 and took top 10 in his division.

Money Island- 7 Miles and over 220+ paddlers
Brian Meyer took 6th overall on his 14' Infinity (lead a lot of the race). Neil Macindoe, Chris Norman, and Ben Butterwei were all top 20 in the Men's 14' division on their Infinity's. Larry Lubbers took 1st place 50+ Men's 12'6 on his Infinity(Larry was beating guys half his age). Chris Sperry took top 10 on his Infinity in the 12'6 division. Greg Lines also put in work and was top 34 on his Infinity.

Open Race- 3 Miles and 300 paddlers
Brad Lewis took 4th on his 12'6 Yolo

Its always a fun time racing at these events with the crew, and seeing all our paddling friends we have made through this sport. Next race on the calendar is the Deep Creek Race at Wisp Resort on May 11th! Hope to see you there

One of our Youngest team riders Rafe took 3rd place in the kids race. Rafe is the man and the future of paddling in our area!!
