3rd Annual Sup Annapolis Race Results

Big thanks to everybody for coming out to our Race on Saturday morning. 70+ paddlers came from up and down the east coast to race and we were greated with a nice light show in the AM haha not what you want to see as a race organizer. Thankfully everybody was super cool and waited it out with us, the skies cleared and we were able to get the race in. The race course started in the calm water of deep creek and went out into the magothy river, racers were greated with some washing machine waves once they reached the river. They were coming from every direction and made it a very challenging race course for everybody and helped the paddlers with more rough water experiance but everybody still had smiles on their face when they came back in. Trying to run around after like a chicken with my head cut off yesterday and scrambling to get the top 3 paddlers of each division figured out so I could give the awards I made a few mistakes. I want to apologize to Jeff Schmitt who took 3rd in the 5 mile 12'6 elite, I missed it somehow but everything is straight now on the spreadsheet. Same think happened with Mary Katherin Bain, Katie Hanson and Gary Jacoby, it was an honest mistake but I should have caught it. Other then that the event was a blast, I want to thank Jim, Deb, and Joy for helping keep time without you guys it would have been bad. I also want to thank all the sponsors Windspeed Logistics, May Realty, Yolo Boards, Riviera Paddle Surf, Coastal Surf Supply, and Stand Up Paddle Dc for sponsoring. Big shout outs to Sup Annapolis team rider Denny Grant for taking 1st overall and 1st in the 14', Ocean City local and machine Ron Gossard for 2nd overall (on a 12'6 what?!) and 1st in the 12'6, and Dawn Ehman for taking 1st in the women's elite 12'6 and beating A LOT of guys.  Anybody who finished that race course yesterday especially you new people should be proud, that was not an easy day on the water. Thanks again for making our event one of the biggest in MD. Since I was all over the place I didnt get to talk to everybody so hope to see you on the water soon, and don't forget about the OC race on Aug 18th and the DC race on the 25th
