Sup Annapolis Race Details for this Saturday!!!

Okay guys thanks to all of you who have signed up. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NOT THE DEADLINE FOR ONLINE SIGN-UP IS WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT MIDNIGHT, you are welcome to sign up the day of the race but it will be $30 instead of $25 so help us out with planning and sign up early!! The turnout is going to be great, I just want to go over some important details with everybody so there is no confusion. You will get this in an email if you signed up for the race as well.

Registration starts at 7AM-845AM

You can get there anytime after 7 and pick up your packet and fill out waiver forms. We ask that every participant is in the water and on their boards by 9:15am at the latest. Due to the heat we will start the race at 9:30am on the Dot so be ready!!! The 5 milers will go first and then 20 seconds after they go the 2.5 miler's will start. The course is a 2.5 mile course starting in the back of Deep Creek (calm water) and going out into the Magothy River (can have waves, current) and back. The 5 Milers will do this twice, the course will consist of 2 Buoy turns. Here is a map of the race.






We were hoping for some cooler weather but it looks like it will be hot. PLEASE hydrate before the race and take water with you during the race, get a camelpak or bring a water bottle with you. The heat can drain you so you will need it, the safety boats will have water on board so do not feel bad if you have to stop and get a drink during the race.

This is a race but it is more about having fun with a group of people who all love the sport of Stand Up. If at anytime during the race you do not feel well or feel like you can not make it just waive down a safety boat, it happens do not feel bad about it.

After the race lunch is included for all racers at deep creek restaurant. During that time we will have an awards ceremony and give out some prizes etc. Spectators are welcome, they can purchase food and drinks and there are plenty of places to watch from. We are making the 5 miler's do the course twice to keep it spectator friendly so feel free to have family/friends come cheer you on.
