Cold Stroke Trip

Hey guys, we are planning a trip to the cold stroke classic on January 15th. The race is in wrightsville beach, NC. It is a little warmer there but can still be pretty cold, you can do a 7mile or a 3.5mile. Here is the website http://www.coastalurge.com/CSC/. They have rooms at the place for I believe $70 a night. I was thinking of driving down early Friday morning, going for a short afternoon paddle just to get a warm up in when we get there. The race is Saturday morning, then they do a surfing demo and a big award ceremony party Saturday night. Then I figured I would head back early Sunday morning, the ride is about 6 hours. Just let me know if your interested so we can start to plan. I can fit 4 boards and 4 people in my car comfortably (with a lot of straps haha). After looking into the RV thing I don't think that will work so we will probably need a few cars. So far myself, Neil, Mark, and Brad are all going to make the trip, we had a few more but they had to back out. Let us know if your interested so we can start to figure out logistics. Should be a blast and for those of you that are worried about not being in paddling shape don't worry, I have only been paddling once or twice every two weeks and I am far from in good paddling shape at the moment but this is a really cool event with a lot of different types of paddlers so don't worry about that, its all about having fun. If you do not have a board I may have an extra one
